Become a Commercial Model

Commercial models do everything not generally associated with high fashion, including advertising for products and services – such as household goods, food, travel, and technology.

Commercial models can be of any age, size or build as they are needed for a variety of commercial modelling jobs.

Famous Commercial Models

Among the names you may recognize is Cindy Crawford as one of the most famous Commercial Models. Known for her strong eyebrows, athletic body and signature birthmark, Cindy dropped out of college to pursue a career in modelling. After becoming one of the most famous models of the 80s, she expanded her career to include fitness videos, television commercials and clothing lines.

The second very famous commercial model was Linda Evangelista. If there is anyone who has left a legacy in the world of modelling, it is Linda Evangelista. Known for her chameleon-like looks, Evangelista could transform in front of the camera in a way that no one else could. “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day” became her motto.

An aspiring commercial model should find a good agent or build a big network in the modelling industry. You need to work on your personality, the quality of your skin and your hair. Your teeth should also be well groomed. Ideally, you will take acting classes to adapt to different advertisers. You have the best chances as a commercial model if you are versatile. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to be attractive, but it’s not always crucial. It is much more important that you have that “certain something”.
